I was born in 1982 in Thun, Switzerland where I spent most of my childhood in the Leather workshop of my Finnish mother or accompanying my father, who worked as an architect and taught me all about working with shapes and colors.
Straight after my Matura with a major in art, I began my studies in conservation and restoration specializing in paintings and sculptures at the HKB in Berne, Switzerland, where I was introduced to art history, aesthetics, studying and working with different materials, and most importantly precision.
2007 I graduated with a diploma in conservation and restoration. After eight years on the job, working on-site for a company, as well as independently, I enlisted for further studies at the Schweizerische Textilfachschule STF Zurich in 2011, from where I graduated in 2014 with a diploma in surface design.
Born from a passion for the creation of aesthetically pleasing, honest, handcrafted objects with a focus on longevity, Formschmiede was founded in 2015.
I live and work in Adliswil, Switzerland, where I develop and produce my products in a small studio of my own.
